Grab New Business is the venture building and venture investments arm of Grab. We incubate new businesses within Grab and also partner with dynamic tech startups to provide everyday services to our users.
We are a diverse mix of ex startup founders, west coast techies, management consultants and experienced consumer tech professionals
Get to know the Role:
  • We are seeking a passionate individual to grow this team of creative and strategic thinkers who drive innovation at Grab, who launches high impact new initiatives and incubates new businesses that support Grab's core business
  • We are looking for Launchers to start a new vertical in a matter of months building and growing our business while providing excellent service to our users.
  • New verticals are a critical piece of Grab's success and Launchers are at the tip of the spear. This is an intense business-side startup role where no two days alike--there is no such thing as a typical day. To excel, you have to be smart, but more importantly, you have to be self-motivated, have exceptional relation-building skills and be highly analytical.

The day-to-day activities:
  • Become an expert on the new business: understand the business model, pain points, market opportunity, and business economic
  • Establish standard for performance and playbook in order to consistently provide the highest-quality service to outserve our customers and monitoring how the progress is
  • Work closely across Grab functions such as ops, product, analytics, and BD teams to ensure successful launch and management
  • Work closely with marketing team to identify key levers that will accelerate the new business growth by consistently innovating and executing on unique strategies for acquiring customers
  • Own the execution of all program management initiative, prioritize and manage projects & tasks for the new business, ensuring proper planning and on time, on target execution,
  • Prepare and provide regular updates on progress to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and be accountable for relevant metrics to evaluate business success
  • Be a sounding board for the strategic initiatives and decisions of senior management

The must haves:
  • Fluency and ability to speak & write in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • 5 years or more of relevant experience in creating plan, executing and managing operations at a startup, tech company, and/or traditional company. Prior management consulting experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in building a business or product line from scratch is a plus
  • MBA degree is a plus
  • A problem solver takes a hands-on approach on problem solving highly structured, analyticals with strong quantitative skills
  • Holds a high integrity you are dealing with a new business launch and we need trust that you've got the best interests of the company in mind
  • Thrives in ultrafast-paced tech/digitally-inclined environment
  • Proactive to drive data-needs to guide planning and decision-making
  • Works well with people, managing various stakeholders from different departments and backgrounds
  • Highly resourceful and fast learner
  • Experience in South East Asia (e.g. Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore) a plus
  • Interested in new technology and have an open-mind towards rapid future developments in the digital space, love to challenge the norm, highly nimble
  • Some travels might be required from time to time
